Three steps to a real rehearsal
No flashcards to tap through. It plays out like the actual oral interview — because that's the part people freeze on.
Tell us your state
We fill in the answers that depend on where you live — your capital, governor, senators, and representative — so every question is right for you.
Answer out loud
The officer asks each question aloud. You speak your answer naturally — pause, think, take your time. No typing required.
Get graded like the real thing
It understands what you meant, not just what you memorized. Score, streaks, and a full review show exactly what to work on.
Built for the part that actually trips people up
Anyone can memorize 128 answers. Saying them, out loud, to an officer, under pressure — that's the test. This rehearses that.
Spoken, both ways
Hear every question and answer by voice — the closest thing to sitting across from the officer.
Graded on meaning
Say it in your own words. If your answer is right, it counts — you don't have to match the wording exactly.
Right for your state
Your governor, senators, capital, and representative are filled in automatically — no wrong answers from a generic list.

Good to know
Is this the new 2025 test?+
Yes. It covers the 2025 (128-question) civics test — the version for applications filed on or after October 20, 2025 — including the 65/20 track for older, long-term residents.
Do I have to speak, or can I type?+
Speaking is the point — it rehearses the real oral interview. But there's always a typing option if you're somewhere you can't talk out loud.
How do the "your state" questions work?+
You tell us your state and ZIP once, and we fill in your capital, governor, senators, and U.S. representative automatically — so those questions are correct for you, not a generic answer.
Is my information private?+
Your practice stays private and the app is ad-free. You can try the first 10 questions with no account at all.
Is this affiliated with the government?+
No. Citizenship Test Buddy is an independent study tool. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by USCIS or any government agency, and it is not legal advice.
